Dear Procrastinators and Friends!
This week, we didn’t hold our Sunday meeting. Instead, some of our members went to the StAnza Poetry Festival in St Andrews. Here are a few prompts inspired by our visit.
Prompt 1: Wild
The festival’s theme this year was ‘Wild: forms of resistance’. Use these words as inspiration for a freewrite and see where your wildness takes you.
Prompt 2: Here are a few titles of poems or words I picked up during the event. Pick one of more of them as title for a poem or a piece of prose.
- Scale
- How do you know when to run?
- Dust
- Quiet
- lost belonging
Prompt 3: Write a piece of prose or poem in the first person plural.
Prompt 4: “The secret title of every good poem might be ‘Tenderness” (Galway Kinnell)
Discuss!
As per usual, if one of our prompts inspire a piece of your writing, then please leave a link to your blog in the comment box below.
We publish new creative writing prompts every Sunday after our online meeting. Thanks for stopping by.
Enjoy your writing, and, until next time!

Thanks so much for using the Procrastinators’ Weekly Writing Prompts. I love your story about lost belonging, it really resonated with me. Reminded me of my own ‘losses’, the objects that hold so much sentimental value and also a sense of belonging… in the end, we keep our memories safe in our souls.
